SMPC Technigas® cylinders are available for the European and Middle Eastern markets.  Satisfied customers include multinational oil and gas companies such as BP, Esso, Shell, and Mobil.  We offer a full range of first quality cylinders to all international specifications including British Standard BS 5045, Australian AS, European Standards, American DOT, French NF and German DIN.  Our extensive manufacturing programme includes cylinders for LPG, refrigerant gases such as freon, dissolved acetylene, and special gases such as anhydrous ammonia, chlorine, and methyl bromide.

The cylinders are manufactured from best quality, high tensile special steel which is decoiled, and then stamped into round blanks.  The blanks are then put through a deep drawing process.

After the two halves have been produced, with customer's embossing as required, the welding process is carried out on automatic machines.  This ensures repeatable, consistent welding.  Submerged arc and MIG are standard processes.

Normalisation heat treatment restores the original properties of the raw material, refines the grain, and gives longer service life.  After normalisation, every cylinder is hydrostatically tested on a large carousel.

After grit blasting, the cylinders are subjected to pure zinc hot metal sprayed metallisation, which combats corrosion.  After being painted and valved, a pneumatic leak test is performed, the customer logo is silk screened and the cylinder tare weight established.
